14 Then the king heard the news, he was very distressed and on Daniel set his heart free him, and until sunset worked to save him. 15 Then these men assembled unto the king, and said: Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians that no decree nor statute which the king establishes may be changed. 16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast into the den of lions. But the king said unto Daniel, Thy God whom you serve continually, he will deliver thee. 17 A stone was brought and laid upon the mouth of the den, and the king sealed with his ring and the ring of his nobles, so that nothing regarding whether Daniel changed: 18 Then the king went to his palace and spent the night fasting, and were not brought to their instruments of music, and fled his sleep. 19 Then the king arose very early in the day, and went in haste unto the den of lions. 20 And he came to the den to Daniel, he cried with a lamentable voice, and the king said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, would be the case that your God, whom you serve continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? 21 Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live forever! 22 My God sent his angel and shut the lions' mouths, and they do not hurt me, because I was found blameless before him, and also before thee, O king, have I committed any crime. 23 Then the king rejoiced, and sent out to Daniel's grave. So Daniel was taken from the pit, and no injury was found on him, because he had trusted in his God. 24 And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and were cast into the den of lions, them, their sons and their wives, and had not yet reached the bottom of the den when the lions overpowered them and they broke all the bones. 25 Then King Darius wrote to all peoples, nations and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied. 26 I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, enduring for ever: and his kingdom will never be destroyed, his dominion until the end. 27 He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions. This 28 Daniel, therefore, prospered in the reign of Darius and the reign of Cyrus the Persian.
Daniel 6:14-28
Because of faith, the fear of God and righteousness that led Daniel that he was the victim of a terrible persecution. Greed, envy and jealousy of those who persecuted him and wanted to see its end meant that it fell into a terrible trap, and that's because Daniel was innocent unjustly punished.
Who among us has never been unjustly slandered and persecuted because of our faith in our Almighty God and live. Which of us ever heard a colleague say that we were strange and weird that we did not do the same things? Who among us has never been rejected by peers at work or school because we are not casters in chat making fun of this or that colleagues and gossiping and intrigue? Which of us have been ridiculed for not getting committing all sorts of sin with the thoughts and words? That did not happen when something worse.
How many times have we left because we have the gift of the fear of God in our hearts and we seek to walk in straight paths of justice, righteousness, holiness, honesty and faithfulness to our God of Love. The same thing happened with Daniel, a young and righteous servant of God.
Daniel was thrown into the den of Lions, Daniel was placed in a hole in which the only exit was capped by a huge stone. Daniel was dead. Daniel was surrounded by ferocious beasts. Daniel was being watched by wild animals to the slightest movement that could make mincemeat of him.
And we? Who among us has never been in a pit where we looked out to the sides and saw no exit nor hope to get out? How many of us have found ourselves surrounded by our enemies who would stop us at all costs. That was exactly what was happening with young Daniel.

Let us learn from the gifted and persevering Daniel we have to do when we find ourselves in a hole with no way out and surrounded by our enemies who are the beasts of this world of sin, evil and injustice.
We can observe the word of God that no young Daniel murmured nor complained. Daniel knew that the God in whom he trusted would deliver them from their enemies, because he always walked beside God, with heartfelt sincerity, humility, fear and loyalty. So Daniel did not despair. Daniel did not panic and do not give up. He simply trusted his life in the hands of our loving God.
Daniel knew that during this terrible ordeal he would not be alone and abandoned. Deep in his heart he knew that the Living God, Strong, loyal to meet all its promises in his life would not let him fall into the hands of his enemies. Daniel knew that no matter how long it was going to go there in that hole in the side of those beasts. What he had in his heart, indeed, was an unshakable confidence that the Almighty God would remove him unharmed, both the hole and the clutches of their enemies.
That is wonderful that we should have faith when things are not good for our side. When the animal is getting, when things go black we have in our hearts that our unshakable faith in God Almighty because, at the right time and in an extraordinary way, He will give us a fantastic victory.
God is faithful! Our faith in God our Father, the Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit of God will never be disappointed. With young Daniel was no different.

Glory to God!
Daniel faced that long dark night. He was surrounded by enemies, but he was an anointed and protected by Almighty God and therefore he received the company's protector, saving and comforting the Angel of the Lord.
Daniel was wonderfully protected by the angel of the Lord who camped next to him and not let your enemies get close to him and they did not harm him. Daniel trusted in the Lord and he was not disappointed. The ordeal had been enormous, but Daniel had faith and gave the whole situation adverse to the Lord and as God is not a man to lie, and rescued the young Daniel hole where he was and still gave the enemies of the boy so that they deserved.
Daniel's enemies have paid high price for not having the fear of God and pursued by a servant of the Lord. They let themselves be dominated by greed, envy, jealousy and because of that they fell in front of their sins.
The same thing happen to us. Faced with adversity, persecution, depression, holes and beasts of life, we must never despair. No matter the size of the beast, the length, width and depth of the hole or we will burn in our hearts the certainty that our Living God, Strong and Powerful us free will and then goes on to triumph in the face of our enemies. Amen!
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit of God will be glorified in our triumph. Our enemies, those who can resist seeing that there will not be bored and not challenged is our God, Living, Strong and Mighty. And also, do not ever move to any of the servants of God without experiencing the harsh, righteous and strong arm of justice of our merciful God. Hallelujah! Glory to God!
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit all honor and glory and power yesterday, today and forever! Amen!
